Past Meeting

An Evening with Paul Skilleter

Paul wrote:
"The talk will be all about my motoring life over the past 45 or so years, including the cars I've owned, the motoring magazines I've been associated with, and the interesting people I've met, from Sir William Lyons onwards. Inevitably there will be a Jaguar bias, although a varied mixture of other marques will feature as well, including Alfa Romeo, Austin A40 Farina, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce. Something for (almost) everyone, perhaps..."

Motor covered the arrival of the original XJ6 in depth and Paul went to Browns Lane to do the photography (see picture to the right). He well remembers how refined and quiet the original XJ6 was.
