Bentley Racing photo 2 Dr Tim Houlding presented a very potted history, with archive slides, on the subject of Racing Bentleys of the Roaring Twenties.

This was a one hundred mile-per-hour dash through the ten years of the Old Bentley Company racing programme (1921-1931) from Experimental No. 2 Three litre to the gargantuan Speed Sixes and Supercharged 4.5 litre cars.

Like all good poetic tales, it all ended in tears in 1931, but not before some hairy moments and plenty of thrills and spills on the piste.

Bentley Racing photo 3 Tim Houlding runs a small bokerage and consultancy for old Bentleys called Vintage Bentley Ltd.

He's a lapsed medic who worked for a while at the Old Radcliffe Infirmary, but burnt out and turned his hobby (more like a disease, but he doesn't want the cure) into a business. He loves those old racing Bentleys and his own Three litre houses the engine from "Old No. 7", heroic winner of the 1927 Le Mans 24-hour race.
